Tech Tip:-

* When replacing 65B Generator (1982-84 Hitatchi) add H.D.#31035-58 Oil Deflector. Use same gear.

* 1936-1957 when replacing 3 brush generators use #31035-58 oil deflector, discard spring and old deflector. See page 9 for mounting options.

* Check for clearance on foot clutch models. Over all length of DVG-5000 is 7.58 inches from gasket surface to fins.

* The DGV-2569 generator is test run at Cycle Electric before it is shipped. At that time it is polarized. It should not need to be polarized again unless it is inadvertently flashed backwards by the customer during or after fitment. It will not hurt it to polarize it again as long as it is done properly.

* Polarizing:- With the motor off connect the in.Fin. terminal to ground and momentarily flash the in.Ain. terminal with positive. Remove ground from in.Fin. terminal. If you have properly installed a working regulator it will turn on and ground the in.Fin. terminal in which case you will not need to use an external ground.

* Caution! Do not flash the in.Fin. terminal. This will damage the regulator.
